\n\"Good morning lazybones,\" Tania smiled brightly as Claire came into the kitchen.\nTania was standing against the counter as she nursed her glass of juice as\nbreakfast baked in the oven. She had slept in herself today. It had been a\nlate...and wonderful...night, but after waking up with Claire in her arms, she\nhad reluctantly pulled herself out of bed. It was going to be a busy day; that\nsword needed to be looked at as soon as possible. If it was another one of those\nswords that Hades had created, they needed to get it home and locked away where\nit would be protected by the Amazons.

Looking through the tinted\nwindows Julia watched as Tania skillfully navigated the lanes congested with\ndrivers in vehicles of every shape and size. Kiley couldn't help but wonder\nwhere they were all off to in such a hurry. Her ears perked up at the words\namusement park, not knowing what one was, but it sounded fun!
\nFinally the car pulled off the freeway and down into the city. The car turned and bumped slightly as it pulled into the driveway\nof the large, brickstone office building. One by one all four women climbed out\nof the car.
\n\"Back to work!\" Claire barked playfully at the two girls who forced a smile\neach.
\nKiley noticed her mother seemed to be unusually happy this morning. She didn't\nknow what it was, but the redhead seemed to be beaming with confidence. With a\nshrug, Kiley reached back into the car and pulled out the tight fitting gray\nhooded sweatshirt before putting it on one arm at a time and zipping it halfway\nup. This place was always so much colder than home, she thought. The sweatshirt\nhad a snug fit and left her perfectly toned stomach visible barely.
\nAs Tania opened the front door of the building, Claire and the other two girls\nfollowed her inside. What was beyond blew Kiley's mind. She had never seen a\ncollection like this before. At the far end of the room was what appeared to be\nTania's desk, a large, polished antique made of some kind of fine wood. But all\naround her were statues, weapons, armor from all different cultures around the\nworld. Her jaw dropped and she moved past her mother, instantly walking to the\nfar side of the room and admiring a rack of swords that was hung there.
\n\"Beautiful...\" She hissed as Julia rolled her eyes at her.
\nKiley pulled down a gladius from the wall and felt it's weight. Expertly she\nrolled it around in her arms and hands before catching it and throwing the blade\ninto the air, letting it flip a few times before catching it behind her back in\na crouch. A wide smile crossed her face as she rose back up to her feet before\nreturning the blade to it's place on the wall. Claire clapped lightly and Tania\nspoke.
\n\"Impressive...\" She said as she walked over to her desk, rummaging through some\npaperwork. \"Show Kiley around will you Julia?\"
\nThe redhead beamed a smile toward her mother as she reached out and grabbed\nKiley's arm, giving it a firm tug and pulling her towards the stairs that lead\nupwards to, from what Kiley could see, was some sort of loft filled with various\nboxes.
\n\"C'mon Ki!\" She said aloud.
\nAs Julia said that name she hated so much, Kiley had to restrain herself from\njumping and beating on the girl. With a dejected sigh she allowed herself to be\npulled up the staircase, but as soon as they reached the top she ripped her hand\nfree and growled.
\n\"Don't call me that\" She hissed under her breath, careful to not be heard.
\nNone of the four women could see the black SUV pulling up to the front of the\noffices. Julia took Kiley up the old, creaking oak steps with the heavy\nbannister. Julia's bracelets gleamed in the shadowy light way up on the second\nfloor as she looked down at her mother and Claire pull out a wavy bladed sword\nand her mother began inspecting it closely. Julia shrugged and turned away.
\nThe area was filled with old tables with rings on them or old stains, all\ncovered with pieces of metal and armor and weapons and tools left rusting away\nback home on the island but now worth money to some people. Julia found most of\nit boring, but also up here was some old paintings and ceramics that Julia found\nmuch more interesting. She deeply wanted to stay out here in this city. It was\nso exciting, so full of life and color and clothes. Back home, Julia felt like\nshe was a failure sometimes. She could never live up to her mother; who could\nlive up to the legacy of the greatest Amazon of this generation? Out here, there\nwere men and clothes and noise and action and, for Julia, maybe a beginning. If\nonly her mother would let her be Ultra Girl!
\nJulia glanced over at Kiley as the brunette looked through the old weapons and\narmor. Now that is who would probably end up as Ultra Girl, Julia mused, so\nKiley could start training to be Ultra Woman. As she looked an old ceramic bowl,\nshe had an urge to hurl it at Kiley, but that would do no good. Instead, she put\nit down and brushed past Kiley to annoy her as much as possible without letting\nKiley know how jealous she was. \"Oh look, rusty old swords, right up your alley\nthere Ki!\"
\nThree men and a woman drove around the block in the black SUV as they peered\ninto the old two story brick building that housed Tania's shop. They circled the\nblock before finding the old back alley on the opposite side of the block.\nBetween the old brick buildings into the rough alley they drove the SUV, until\nstopping behind the Wok This Way restaurant. They all slipped from the SUV,\nwearing black body suits as they snapped on belts full of devices and pouches\nand slipped on small helmets with faceplates.
\n\"Do it quick,\" the stocky, well muscled man with the brush cut said quietly but\nsharply. \"Get in, disable anyone inside with the ragdoll gas, grab the sword and\nwe're out in no time. Once we get that sword, we sell it for a mint and the\nCartel takes our usual large cut.\"
\nThe others nodded as the woman with the platinum blonde hair added, \"And we get\na nice payday.\"
\n\"Right,\" the Cartel squad leader said. \"Go.\" The four moved down the alley,\nshadowed even in daylight. Once they found the back door to Tania's shop, the\ntaller, lean man used his skills as lockpicking and soon the four slipped inside\nthe back storeroom of the shop.
\nTania glanced at the two girls going up the stairs and could sense the tension\nbetween them, even if Claire could not, but she had no time to deal with such\nsilliness between children at the moment. She could feel the magic in the sword\nas she unwrapped the old canvas from around it. The blade was wavy and double\nedges, useless in battle actually but definitely more for sacrifices to honor a\ndeity. \"Claire, see this?\" Tania said as she pointed out the carvings in the\nhilt of the blade. The tiny skulls with tentacles coming from the eyes were a\nnasty symbol of Hades; how death would reach out to all. \"Unless this is a\nforgery or some strange ripoff, I think we have the real thing. If so, there is\nno way we can leave this out here, it has to get back to the island.\" She did\nnot want to add that this was like the sword that Aluna had used on Claire\nbefore Tania could return from space as Star Sapphire. \"I can check it though,\"\nshe added as she opened her desk drawer to pull out some tools and a magnifying\nglass. \"There is some oil in the store room, would you get it?\" she asked as\nTania sat down to look more closely at the carvings on the hilt. Claire watched\nwith rapt attention as Tania looked over the weapon carefully. The careful\ntouch, the way she focused on it so intently made Claire flash to last night.\nTania was so meticulous and precise with all aspects in her life, from work to\nthe bedroom, it was one of the many things Claire admired her for. The redhead\nleaned down next to her friend and looked carefully at the blade, she was not as\nwell versed with weaponry as Tania but she could tell there was something\nexceptional with the sword.
\n\"Alright...\" She responded \"I'll be right back\"
\nStanding upright, Claire gave Tania an excited squeeze on her shoulder before\nturning around and walking towards the back door. As she passed through the\ndoorway into the dimly lit store room, she looked around. Spotting the oil\ndropper on a desk against the wall, she walked over and grabbed the small metal\ndropper in her hand. As soon as her fingers closed around it, a strange\nsensation spread through her. The feeling that you're not alone in a room swept\nthrough her. Turning around she found herself face to face with one of the men\ndressed all in black, staring at her own reflection in his visor.
\nBefore she could even shout out, the man raised his hand, holding a small spray\ncan in it. He depressed the trigger and the thick green gas spewed out of the\ntop of the can, swirling and rolling over Claire's face as it lifted her long\nhair up off her shoulders. Her green eyes swirled up in her head as she tried to cry out to\nher friend.

\nAs Julia's taunt filled her ears, Kiley's fingers closed around the rusty\ngladius. As she was spun around from Julia knocking into her, Kiley whipped the\nblade around, the tip of it slashing across the back of Julia's dress. The well\naimed strike cut a small 4 inch cut in the fabric covering her lower back, not\ncutting her skin at all. She licked her lips as Julia spun around and found\nherself staring down the blade that was now aimed directly at her throat. A\nsmile spread across Kiley's face as she took a step forward and dragged the tip\nof the rusted blade down between Julia's heaving breasts, nestling it between\nher breasts.
\n\"You were saying...\" She hissed calmly \"And I thought we talked about you\ncalling me SHHH!! Did you hear something?\" Totally engrossed in her study of the\nsword and never expecting to be attacked in her secret identity, especially with\nher best friend watching her back and her child in the building, Tania pulled\nthe honey blonde hair back over her ears and peered down at the sword closely.\n\"Claire? Did you find it?\" she asked as she vaguely heard some scuffling.
\n\"Claire..\" Tania said as she stood up and turned to head into the storeroom,\nonly to come face to face with a tall, thin man in black, her own surprised\nexpression reflected back in his face visor. Beside him was a short, well built\nwoman dressed the same. Her blue eyes widened as she reached out towards him as\nthe small spray can came up, pointed at her face, and released a hiss and a\ncloud of green gas puffed out into Tania's face, flipping the dark blonde hair\nout.
\nStumbling back with her backside against the wooden table, Tania felt the\nstrength ebb from her body, like water draining from a bathtub. As he reached\nout for her, Tania wanted to drop, to go limp and let herself tumble into his\nnow-outstretched arms.
\n\"N..no!\" she gasped out as her fingers weakly grabbed at the table and she\nmanaged to get hold of the small hammer from the tool bag. She threw her arm\nforward, but it had none of her Amazon strength without her bracelets and barely\nthe strength of a normal woman after that puff of gas.
\n\"Ow!\" the Cartel thug said, more in surprise than pain. The woman pushed back\nhim towards the wobbling blonde. Tania tried to lift her arms up, to knock the\ncan out of the woman's hand, but she felt so sluggish.
\nPSSST went the can and another cloud of green gas enveloped Tania's face.\n\"No...not..m..more...\" she gasped as her eyes rolled back in her head for a few\nseconds. This time, the last of her strength washed through her body and she\nfelt herself break into a cold sweat as the woman put a hand in the middle of\nher chest between her breasts and shoved Tania back onto the table. The blonde\nfell back, her arms and legs flopping as Tania's toolbag scattered loudly across\nthe floor. Her head fell back and rolled to the side, dark blonde hair over her\nface as her legs from the knees down swung off the end of the table lifelessly.
\n\"Whoa,\" the man said as he stepped up next to the downed blonde, his hand\nrunning up her long thigh over the stockings she wore in her secret identity. \"I\nthought that other one looked great, but damn!\" he said as he ran his fingers\nover the silk blouse where it was tucked into her skirt, and up over her breast.
\nThe woman was less interested in what Tania looked like. \"Shut up already,\" she\nbarked. \"Get that other slut out here!\" she barked back into the storage room.\nAs she looked down at Tania, she pulled the hair from the downed Amazon's face.\n\"No one has ever needed two applications to drop, even the biggest of men, yet\nthis bitch needed two...\"
\nMeanwhile, with her head slumped to the side, Tania looked at the balcony, her\nblue eyes staring a warning. Up in the balcony, Julia had already ducked down\nand pulled Kiley down with her. She could see her mother's eyes and recognized\nthat glare. Julia saw Kiley's knuckles going white around the hilt of the old\nsword that she had used to slice a hole in Julia's dress and Julia put both\nhands over Kiley's fist. \"No, wait,\" Julia whispered urgently. \"Wait, please\nKiley. My mother wants us to stay up here, I know it...I can see it. But...\"\n\"But what?\" Kiley said between clenched teeth. Julia thought for a moment. She\nmay not be the Great Young Amazon Hope like Kiley, but she was pretty smart and\ncould figure things out quickly. \"We have to rescue them but not now!\" she\nwhispered in Kiley's ear. \"Why not?\" \"Because,\" Julia said still in that urgent\ntone, \"If we charge down there, we will end up getting gassed too, and...\" she\nstarted to say, until she saw Claire being dragged out from the storage room as\nJulia looked at Kiley. Kiley gritted her teeth in anger as she stared back at\nJulia. Her first instinct was to call the girl a coward, and her lips parted to\ndo it, but then she realized she was right. There were too many of them, and\nthey obviously had superior weaponry. With a dejected sigh, she pulled her\nhands, and the blade, away from Julia and turned back toward the railing.\nPeering over the top she looked down just in time to see her mother being\ndragged out of the back room by her arms. The man holding her was huge,\ndefinitely well build underneath his armor, dragging her around near the desk\neasily before plopping her down into one of the office chairs with a soft thump.\nClaire's arms flopped limply out to the sides, falling over the arm rests of the\nchair like strands of wet spaghetti.
\n\"Damn, this bitch is heavy\" Came the man's voice, deep and gruff.
\n\"Mom...\" Kiley whispered, her face half concealed behind the wooden railing\n\"What is that stuff?\" She hissed to Julia without even looking at her.
\nClaire's green eyes had lost some of their color, glazed over and hazy as the\ngas held onto her system. She had no idea what was going on, whatever they\nsprayed her with kept her awake and feeling everything but she had no strength\nat all. Her eyes shot over to Tania, seeing her friend splayed on her back\nacross the table made her want to cry out, but all that escaped her lips was a\nheavy sigh. Her thoughts then shot to her daughter and she looked up to the\nbalcony, spotting Kiley's pale eyes peering over the railing. Claire's eyes\nsoftened as she begged her daughter not to come down, she couldn't imagine Kiley\nsuffering the same things that both her and Ultra Woman had gone through at the\nhands of the criminal men of this world.
\nHer soft eyes bulged as she felt a strong pair of hands slide down over the top\nof the chair and down onto her shoulders. Those powerful gloved fingers dug into\nthe soft skin underneath her blouse, making her want to wretch and throw the man\noff of her, but her body just wouldn't respond more than her breathing becoming\nmore rapid by the second. Slowly they slid down over her collarbone, grabbing a\nhandful of the soft shirt and ripping it open with a sudden jerk, sending\nbuttons flying off in all directions, one even bouncing off Tania's forehead.
\n\"Holy shit look at these!\" The man behind her said.
