WONDER WOMAN in The Fan Club Part 2 A Cunning Plan It had been 3 weeks since I had recruited them at that momentous meeting. A true meeting of minds had taken place 3 men coming together, allies in a grand venture. The weeks had not been wasted. I already had a plan for the operation & was now slowly weaning Dopey & Motormouth off their rather strong inclination of consuming large amounts of beer. Which had been no easy task. I'd also taken the time to get to know my two associates & what a contrasting pair they were. 'OK so when do we grab the Wonder broad?' Motor mouth demanded. 'Yeah, Mr Lomax We've been waiting ages.' Added Dopey. 'Patience gentlemen, patience. I understand you are eager to begin, but things cannot be rushed.' 'Why not? Let's just go get her!' Snapped motor mouth. 'I am just aching to fuck her brains out.' 'Me too.' Grinned Dopey. Dopey aka Mathew Cooper or Coop to his friends. Despite his rather skinny & dim appearance Coop was an expert with computers. What he didn't know wasn't worth knowing. A graduate of MIT & could have had a really big future. Unfortunately Coop had two vices, gambling & hacking - past times that had gotten him in debt up to ears & arrested by the FBI for hacking into banking systems & making rather large withdrawals to pay for his gambling. The kid was genius & now - he was my genius. 'And how would you suggest we grab her Mr Shrivley?' I asked. 'We are not dealing with just any woman here. We are in fact looking to capture the most powerful & formidable woman on the planet.' Motor mouth aka Arnold James Shrivley started to reply then stopped. 'Ok ya got a point there Lomax, so what's the solution.' Despite his bluster Shrivley was a decent guy, former Gunnery Sergeant Shrivley of the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of countless conflicts around the world including both gulf wars & until quite recently Afghanistan. A top marine until he was dishonourably discharged for striking an officer. Now he just did any work that came his way from bar bouncer to body guard work. Shrivley was bitter the corps had been his life, now as a civilian he was like a fish out of water. 'The solution gentlemen is in planning & strategy. Consider this - we are dealing with an adversary who is incredibly powerful. We are very unlikely to be able overpower by brute force alone. Agreed?' 'Agreed.' They replied in unison. With that I started to outline my plan. It had begun with my having instructed Coop to do some quiet checking on the present whereabouts of our target. It turned out she was in Boston working with the FBI. Further information was unavailable. 'Can you hack into their systems & get the information we need without being detected Coop?' 'Sure can Mr Lomax, see they use a tyronal hiverstan matrix which they think is state of the art & totally safe from people like me. But...' I didn't have the first clue what he was talking about, I just let him continue. 'Well see, me & a buddy of mine at MIT developed a new system that makes their's look like a steam engine in comparison.' 'Ok so how long will you need?' 'I figure about 3 hours no more.' 'Ok but don't rush it & leave any traces of you having been there.' 'No problem Mr Lomax they won't know a thing.' Coop was as good as his word if not better. It had taken him exactly 2 hours to find it.' 'Operation Nightingale?' 'Yup.' Said Coop the Feds have got her working with them on a task force to bring down some big crime syndicate. From the intelligence the Feds think they have a major warehouse somewhere in the docks & she is going in with a team to try & locate it in the next 24 hours.' 'So how does that help us.' Asked Shrivley. 'She'll be surrounded by an army of Feds we'd never get near her.' 'On the contrary It helps us a great deal Mr Shrivley.' I replied. 'She'll be working with a small team, I believe you would call them recon teams.' 'Recon huh? In that case they'll be no more than say four to half a dozen feds with her & given the large area they have to cover, they'll be spread pretty thin. 'Mr Shrivley are you acquainted with the teachings of Sun Tzu?' 'Sun who?' 'You surprise me being a former marine, but no matter. Sun Tzu was a great Chinese general who lived sometime between 500 - 320 BC.' 'Enough with the history lesson Lomax what's your fuckin point?' 'The point is Sun Tzu's teachings tell us how to capture our target.' 'Ok I'm listening Lomax' Growled Shrivley unconvinced. 'Firstly, think back to our earlier conversation about our target, we agreed she is quite formidable, right?' 'Yeah but now you're stating the fuckin obvious.' 'Indeed I am Mr Shrivley, because Sun Tzu states that: 'If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.' I watched Shrivley's irritated look slowly replaced by a small grin. 'Do you understand Mr Shrivley?' 'Oh yeah Lomax I understand, it's all down to intel, this Chink general of yours was quite a clever little bastard.' 'Indeed he was Mr Shrivley, thanks to Coop & his access to the FBI systems we now know when they are going to move, where & how. We can even monitor their communications & progress of the operation. Simply put we now know our enemy as we know ourselves & consequently we need not fear the result of one battle let alone a hundred.' 'So are we going hunting for the Wonder broad now Lomax?' 'We are indeed Mr Shrivley & in just over 24 hours Wonder Woman will be our prisoner.' To Be Cont... Next Episode: We Three Kings By sstudent_uk
